Meadors Establish Scholarship Endowment to Benefit Bengal Football

| By:
POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State Athletics department has announced that Phil, Bekki and Jason Meador have established a scholarship endowment that will benefit the Bengal football program.

"The Meador Family has supported Bengal Athletics for as long as I can remember, and their generosity has already done much to help our programs grow," Idaho State Director of Athletics Pauline Thiros said. "Today, as they endow the Meador Family Football Scholarship, they demonstrate the type of long term commitment and investment the Bengals need in order to thrive. I am grateful beyond measure for what this family does in our community, and for the tremendous friendship they show again and again to Bengal Athletics. As Bengals we are so proud to have their trust and support!"

The Meador's own Phil Meador Toyota, Phil Meador Subaru, Phil Meador Courtesy Ford and U-Save Car and Truck Rental.

Jason, who is the General Manager for the Meador Auto Group, attended Idaho State and was a standout linebacker from 1997-2000. He also coached for the Bengals until pursuing a career in car sales.

"Donna Hays and I have been talking about this endowment for the last five years now," Jason said. "We knew this was a great year to do it. It was good for us and it was good for the school. The school has needed it and we are happy to be able to do it."

In 1977, Phil and Bekki moved to Pocatello and opened their first dealership on Main Street. Upon their arrival in Pocatello they immediately became involved with Idaho State University.

They are major sponsors and contributors to several programs at ISU and also do a lot for area public schools including sponsoring the back to school program. They are also involved with the Pocatello Animal Shelter's Run with the Big Dogs, the Secret Santa program and many more community causes.

They host the annual Bengal auction and contribute to the Grace Lutheran and Holy Spirit auctions.   They also make it a point to help those who are committed to making our lives safer with the Veterans Hospital, local law enforcement, and local fire departments.

The Meadors are also members of the Bengal Athletic Boosters, Coaches Car Club, Quarterback Club and Cage Club.
