POCATELLO, Idaho- After a strong finish to the season, the Idaho State men's tennis team was well-represented on the Big Sky All-Conference team that was released Friday afternoon.
Hiroki Fujita and
Jaime Castillo-Lopez earned second-team all-conference in singles play.
Patrik Trhac and Aleksandar Petrovic earned first-team all-conference in doubles while Castillo-Lopez and
Gary Rendek earned honorable mention all-conference in doubles play.
Castillo-Lopez was 8-8 in singles play while Fujita finished the year 9-8 in singles. Fujita spent most of his time at No. 4 singles where he compiled a 7-2 record.
In doubles play, Trhac and Petrovic was 13-3 at No. 1 doubles for the Bengals. Castillo-Lopez and Rendek were 9-6 at No. 3 doubles.
The Bengals finished the year 8-11 and advanced to the Big Sky Conference championship match against NAU. After starting the season 0-7, the Bengals won eight of their final 12 matches. This was the Bengals first time in a Big Sky title match since 1999.
