Bengals Earn Four All-Big Sky Honors, De Pellegrin Caps Historic Career with 3rd First Team Selection

FARMINGTON, Utah – Idaho State men's tennis placed four players on the 2026 All-Big Sky Conference teams, headlined by Valentino De Pellegrin, who capped the most decorated career in program history with another singles first team selection, as announced by the conference office, Wednesday afternoon.

De Pellegrin was named to the All-Big Sky Singles First Team for the third consecutive season, becoming just the fifth Bengal in program history and 28th player in conference history to earn three or more first team singles honors. With the selection, he closes his career as the most decorated student-athlete in Idaho State men's tennis history, totaling eight all-conference honors to go along with Big Sky Freshman of the Year recognition in 2023.

A four-year mainstay in the lineup, De Pellegrin earned all-conference recognition in both singles and doubles every season of his career. His postseason résumé includes three first team singles selections, one second team singles honor, one doubles first team selection, two doubles second team honors, and one doubles honorable mention.

During the 2026 campaign, De Pellegrin posted a 9-6 overall record while competing in the No. 1 singles position, including a 3-4 mark in conference play, continuing to anchor the Bengals at the top of the lineup.

Idaho State added another singles honor with Sep de Visser being named to the All-Big Sky Singles Second Team. Competing primarily in the No. 2 spot, de Visser posted a 9-6 overall record, including a 7-1 mark in No. 2 singles matches and a 4-2 record in conference play. The honor marks his first career All-Big Sky singles selection and first Big Sky postseason award. He previously earned All-Southland Conference Doubles First Team honors last season at the University of New Orleans and was named Big Sky Player of the Week twice during the 2026 season.

In doubles play, the Bengals were represented by the senior duo of De Pellegrin and Tyler Dalos, who were named to the All-Big Sky Doubles Second Team. The pair went a perfect 3-0 overall and 3-0 in conference play in the No. 1 doubles position. The honor marks De Pellegrin's fourth career postseason doubles recognition, while Dalos earns his first career postseason honor.

Idaho State also earned honorable mention recognition in doubles, as the tandem of de Visser and Quentin Lamothe was selected after receiving votes from the league's coaches. The duo compiled a 5-1 overall record and a 4-1 mark in conference play in the No. 2 doubles spot. The selection marks the second career postseason honor for Lamothe, who earned All-Big Sky Doubles First Team recognition last season, while de Visser adds his second career doubles all-conference selection.

The Bengals' four all-conference selections tie for the second-most in program history, matching totals from the 2003, 2004, 2021, and 2025 seasons, and trailing only the program-record five selections in 2024.

Montana's Tom Bittner was named the Big Sky Most Valuable Player, while Northern Arizona's Jakub Jedrzejczak earned Freshman of the Year honors. Montana head coach Jason Brown was named Coach of the Year.

Idaho State will enter the Big Sky Championships as the No. 3 seed and open tournament play against the No. 6 seed Sacramento State on Thursday in Phoenix. The Bengals defeated the Hornets, 5-2, earlier this season. The matchup marks the first meeting between the two programs in the conference tournament since the 2024 semifinals, when Sacramento State earned a 4-2 victory before going on to win the championship. With a win, Idaho State will advance to Friday's semifinal round to face No. 2 seed Montana.
