Bengals Fall to Wyoming 3-1

POCATELLO, Idaho – Idaho State soccer fell 3-1 to the University of Wyoming, Friday night in Larmie.

The Cowgirls got on the board first in the 17th minute.

The Bengals fought back and forth with the Cowgirls for 10 more minutes until in the 26th minute. Mackenzie Sinclair sent a cross to Deborah Pond who put it in the back of the net and tied the game 1-1.

The two teams ended the first half tied 1-1.

The Bengals continued the fight until the 65th minute when Wyoming was awarded a penalty kick that they converted into a goal to make it 2-1. The Cowgirls would add one more goal to end the game with the 3-1 win.

The Bengals had six shots in the game with two looks at goal.  Kaylyn Buchanan, Peyton Dion, Taylin Butterbaugh and Virginia Wallace also tacked on shots for the Orange and Black.

McKayla Wetsel returned to the net for the Bengals and In 90 minutes of play had seven saves facing 17 Cowgirl shots.

The Bengals continue their Mountain West road trip on Sunday as they take on Colorado State.
