POCATELLO, Idaho – The Idaho State women's basketball team (12-7, 8-2 BSC) fell to the Sacramento State Hornets (9-9, 5-4 BSC) 73-57 Thursday night in Reed Gym.
The Bengals played strong the first half, coming back from a deficit of 11 points to finish the first half with a 32-31 lead headed into the locker room.
The second half, the Hornets pulled away, outscoring the Bengals 19-14 in the third and 23-11 in the fourth.
The Hornets were able to pull away in the fourth and secure the 73-57 victory.
Idaho State shot 35.9 percent from the floor on 23-of-64 shooting.
From three-point range, the Bengals had a good game shooting 43.5 percent on 10-of-23 from the field.
Tomekia Whitman led the Bengals with 19 points on eight-of-18 shooting from the floor. Dora Goles led from the three-point arc hitting four threes, Whitman followed just behind tacking on three threes.
The Bengals only committed three turnovers in the game and didn't allow a single Sac State steal.
The Orange and Black will look to rebound from the loss on Saturday, Jan. 29 as they host the Northern Colorado Bears in Reed Gym at 2:00 PM.
