SAN DIEGO- The Idaho State football battled Mountain West favorite San Diego State tough before falling 38-7 on Saturday evening at Snap Dragon Stadium.
Idaho State had 338 yards of total offense while San Diego State finished with 488.
Raiden Hunter led the ISU rushing attack with 53 yards on 13 carries.
Cyrus Wallace caught six balls for 44 yards.
Xavier Guillory caught three passes for 94 yards, one being a 75-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter. ISU quarterbacks

Hunter Hays and
Sagan Gronauer combined to throw for 258 yards on 24 completions and 40 attempts.
Charles Ike and
Jack Genova led the defense with seven tackles.The Bengal defense forced two third quarter turnovers.
Jihad Brown and
Raemo Trevino each recovered a fumble.
Idaho State led 7-0 when Guillory caught his touchdown reception from Vander Waal. The Bengals trailed 14-7 at the end of the first quarter and 21-7 at halftime. San Diego State led 24-7 after the third quarter until the Aztecs scored two late touchdowns in the final eight minutes of the game.
Idaho State returns home for its home opener on Sept. 17 vs. Central Arkansas. Kickoff is at 1 p.m. The game is Education Day. Fans are encouraged to print off the voucher on ISU Athletics social media sites for $10 tickets. Idaho State Athletics will give $2 back to local Southeastern Idaho schools for each returned voucher.
