POCATELLO, Idaho - The Idaho State Bengals fell to the Sacramento State Hornets 51-16 Saturday evening in Sacramento, Calif.
The game was a tale of two halves, with a strong first half out of both teams. In the second, the Hornets ran away with the game and closed the game out.
In the first half, After the Hornets went up 14-0, the Bengals charged back. Scoring first with a 25 yard catch by
Chedon James. The Bengals then, kicked a field goal to cut the lead to 14-9.
In the 2nd, what looked to be a pick-six for the Hornets turned into a score for the Bengals. After the potential interception bounced out of the Hornet players hands,
Alfred Jordan Jr. scooped the ball out of the air and tip-toed down the line for the score.
The Hornets were able to score again and the two teams went into the locker room with Sac State up 24-16.
In the second half, the Hornets took advantage of Bengal turnovers and scored 27 unanswered points to ice the game and take the 51-16 win.
The Bengals are back home next week taking on the Weber State Wilcats in Holt Arena. Kickoff is set for 4:00 PM
