POCATELLO, Idaho- Idaho State Head Soccer Coach,
Dustin Downey, announced the signing of nine players for the 2025 fall season, comprising of all incoming freshmen.
Nolyn Cromie – Midfielder/Defender
Hometown: Boise, Idaho
High School: Boise High School
Club: Boise Thorns ECNL
Head Coach,
Dustin Downey, shared his thoughts on bringing Nolyn onboard, "What coach doesn't enjoy bringing top, in-state talent into their program? Nolyn is a talented, versatile soccer player who has the capabilities to play multiple positions on the field. Having a player like Nolyn opens doors for our staff to play a variety of formations and styles, knowing we can plug her into any position and trust her to get the job done.
Every team wants, and needs, a utility player like Nolyn on their roster. She's homegrown talent, and I'm glad we're able to keep her in-state and have her represent ISU!"
Laney Erickson – Forward
Hometown: Highlands Ranch, Colorado
High School: Mountain Vista High School
Club: Real Colorado National ECNL
"Teammates with Reese Ormsby, Laney is going to bring some unreal pace to our attacking front. She's extremely explosive!" Says Downey, "Our coaching staff just had the opportunity to watch her play with her Real Colorado National ECNL club team, and she was an impact player for her team when she was on the field.
Laney also won a high school state championship last year, where she scored the game-winning goal and earned the Finals MVP. I expect to see her continue to rack up individual accolades while wearing the orange and black of Idaho State University!
Emily Frost – Forward
Hometown: Long Beach, California
High School: Millikan High School
Club: Slammers FC ECNL
HC Downey gave us his feelings on signing Emily Frost, "Emily is a powerful, left-footed winger who will bring speed and a threatening attacking prowess into our program. She possesses a great work rate on both sides of the ball, and is a player I believe will be a thorn in the side of our opponents come 2025.
I know we got a good one in Emily when a Power 4 coach said to me, "That's a great pickup..."
She's going to cause problems in the Big Sky."
Faith Hughes – Forward
Hometown: Anchorage, Alaska
High School: South Anchorage High School
Club: Cook Inlet 06/07 Elite
"We came across Faith at an evening match under the lights while recruiting at a showcase event in Las Vegas, NV, Downey recalls. "Our coaching staff knew immediately we'd found a diamond in the rough in Faith, who hails from Anchorage, AK!
She's a player who likes to run at defenders with the ball at her feet, creating goal-scoring opportunities from successful 1v1 attacking flank play. Faith puts a high emphasis on her fitness and physical play, and without a doubt in my mind, will arrive in Pocatello ready to compete immediately as a freshman in the Big Sky Conference.
Tess Livingston – Defender
Hometown: Pleasant Grove, Utah
High School: Pleasant Grove High School
Club: La Roca Academy 06/07
"Tess is another extremely gifted multi-sport athlete, who grew up playing basketball and soccer before fully committing her time to playing NCAA DI soccer.
She's tough, gritty, strong, fast, and has a very competitive mindset; the combination of these mental and physical attributes is going to make Tess an elite defender at the NCAA DI level", states Downey. "I wouldn't be surprised if we see a lot of her on the field for us come 2025."
Reese Ormsby – Midfielder
Hometown: Longmont, Colorado
High School: Mead High School
Club: Real Colorado National ECNL
"We got a steal with Reese!" Shares Downey, "Here's a kid who I think was severely overlooked in the recruiting process. Within just a couple of year's time, Reese has moved into a roster spot competing for one of the top club teams in the country in Real Colorado National ECNL. She's a box-to-box midfielder who's silky on the ball, keeping the game simple in her possession play. She makes playing soccer look easy. Reese is a very consistent player who is going to put her head down and go to work every day in training and in games. She's exactly the type of student-athlete we want representing our team and university!"
Lacie Poll – Forward
Hometown: Morgan, Utah
High School: Morgan High School
Club: Wasatch 2006G/DPL
Downey shares his thoughts on recruting Lacie, "Keeping with the theme of strong and explosive attacking players, Lacie fits the mold of a Division I center forward. She is a very powerful player who will put opponent's under pressure when she's defending, and look to fly past them with and without the ball when we attack.
She's worked extremely hard to get to this level, and I know she's going to bring with her an outstanding work ethic, pushing herself and teammates to be better every day, while maintaining the high standards we set for ourselves off the field and in the classroom as well."
Parker Sullivan – Midfielder
Hometown: Anchorage, Alaska
High School: DIamond High School
Club: Cook Inlet 06/07 Elite
"Parker, teammate of Faith Hughes, is an extremely technical player who will add to the dynamic play of our midfield. I'm really excited about what she'll bring to our team's attack with her triple threat skill set of being able to effectively dribble, pass, and shoot", shares HC Downey. "Parker values the ball, and will play a major role in improving our team's ability to keep possession during our attacking moments and help create goal-scoring opportunities.
I can't wait for her to get to campus, and have the opportunity to coach a high-caliber player such as Parker!"
Hannah Wieler – Goalkeeper
Hometown: Simi Valley, California
High School: Oaks Christian High School
Club: LAFC So Cal ECNL
"Hannah is a gem of a goalkeeper, and I'm stoked to have her join our program! She's a student of the game, and has a really good understanding of her position", Downey tells us. "Along with her tactical awareness, Hannah has impeccable technical skills, including great eye-hand coordination and fantastic hands, rarely dropping anything kicked her way. We've also had a lot of coaches around the country complement our staff on her commitment. She's going to come into our team and be able to compete for playing time right away!"
