POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State Bengals fell to the NAU Lumberjacks 73-59 Saturday afternoon in Reed Gym. The Bengals drop to 10-11 (6-4 BSC) after the loss.
The Orange and Black had a hot start to the game, shooting 46.4 percent from the field in the first half. Seven of the eight Bengals that saw the floor scored in the first 20 minutes led by
Nika Lokica's nine points on four-of-six shooting. Lokica also hit the Bengals' lone three pointer of the first half.
The Bengals went into the locker room with a five point lead over NAU
The second half, saw the Lumberjacks go on a 16-2 run to retake the lead and hold onto it for the remainder of the contest.
Halle Wright had a strong 2nd half for the Orange and Black and ended the game with a team-high and new career-high 17 points on five-of-nine shooting and six-of-seven shooting from the free throw line.
The Bengals and Lumberjacks were even in boards with 36 rebounds each.
While giving up 12 offensive boards to NAU, the Bengals held the Lumberjacks to just six second chance points in the game.
