POCATELLO, Idaho – The Idaho State concluded the 2023-24 season falling to Sacramento State 73-55 in the opening round of the Big Sky Tournament.
The Bengals end the season with a 11-19 (7-11BSC) record.
How it Happened
The Bengals and Hornets fought back and forth in Boise for the first three quarters of the game with neither team able to grab and edge.
There were six lead changes and six ties in the first three quarters of the game.
Kacey Spink and Cam Collman went off offensively for the Bengals. Cam Collman set the tone early hitting an 'and 1' three-pointer.
Collman would go on to score 13 points on three-of-six shooting from the field.
Kacey Spink was the bright spot of offense for the Orange and Black shooting six-of-13 and a team-leading 16 points.
The Hornets were able to have an explosive 4th quarter on offense and pulled away for the 73-55 win.
Notes-
· The Bengals and Hornets are now 1-2 in Big Sky Tournament games, and this is the third straight season with a first-round exit for the Bengal women.
· Cam Collman had a season-high game for the Bengals scoring 13 points on three-of-six shooting.
· Kacey Spink is now tied for 8th all-time in single season steals, finishing the season with 62. She is tied with Diaba Konate from the 2020-21 season.
