POCATELLO, Idaho – The Idaho State women's tennis team returns to the court for the first time since winning the 2023 Big Sky Regular Season championship, as they host their annual ISU Invite at Capell Park in Chubbuck, ID from Friday September 6
th to Sunday September 8
th. The first match will kickoff Friday at noon, and matches on Saturday and Sunday will begin at 9 AM.
In this invitational the format is an individual draw in both singles and doubles play. Meaning that players from the same school could end up playing each other in the draw.
The different teams participating besides ISU will be Utah State, University of Montana, and Utah Tech.
Since last the season the Bengals have seen drastic roster turnover. After graduating
Hana Cho, Lola and
Sol O'Lideadha, and
Megan Lang-Gould, head coach, Grectchen Maloney, has had a busy summer, adding four freshmen to the roster,
Millie Day (England),
Victoria Grymalska (Italy),
Erin Maguire (Australia),
Veronika Zarovna (Ukraine). The All-Big Sky Second Team Doubles duo of
Asem Shoybek and
Stefanya Shalakhova, along with the two seniors,
Olivia Mikkelson and
Sydney Morris, make up the returning players for the squad.
