FARMINGTON, Utah – Idaho State forward Isabella Winton has been named the Big Sky Conference Offensive Player of the Week following her clutch performance in the Bengals' 1-0 win over Portland State on Oct. 5th.
Winton delivered the match-winner in dramatic fashion, scoring in the 87th minute to lift Idaho State to its first Big Sky Conference victory of the season. The goal marked her second career score and first of the 2025 campaign, capping off a determined effort in front of the home crowd.
Her late strike continued a season-long theme of late-game heroics for the Bengals — it was Idaho State's third goal scored in the final three minutes of regulation this season, a testament to the team's composure and persistence under pressure.
This marks Winton's first career Big Sky weekly honor and makes her the second Bengal this season to earn Big Sky Offensive Player of the Week, joining Saydree Cooke (Sept. 15–21). It also represents a program milestone — the first time since 2013 that multiple Idaho State players have received Big Sky Player of the Week honors in the same season.
"Isa's been growing in confidence all year," Head Coach Dustin Downey said. "She came up big when we needed her most. That finish shows her composure and timing, and I'm really proud of how she continues to impact our attack."
