POCATELLO, Idaho - The Idaho State Bengals (6-3) finished up the 2025 UNLV Rebel Classic with an 8-1 win over Monmouth. The Bengals finish the tournament 3-2.
For the third game in a row, the Bengals dominated the Monmouth Hawks starting the game without wasting any time, scoring four runs.
In the fourth, Alyssa Yee hit her 2nd homerun of the season and 14th of her career putting the Bengals up 7-0 over the Hawks.
Overall, Yee led the Bengals going 4-for-4 with three RBIs. The Bengals had 10 hits as a team and finished the weekend with double-digit hits against the Hawks in every game played.
Tournament Wrap up
The Bengals wrap up the UNLV Rebel Classic with a 3-2 record over the three days spent in Las Vegas. Idaho State picked up three wins over Monmouth and dropped two nailbiters against UNLV.
The Bengals outscored their opponents 39-14 hitting .356 as a team with 52 hits. ISU had 16 extra-base hits with nine doubles, a triple and six homeruns. Overall Camryn McDonald led the team with a .778 batting average over 9 at bats, but over the course of the tournament in 16 at bats Yee led the team, hitting .563 with nine hits, three doubles and two homeruns.
The Bengal pitching staff was led by Riley Wickum over the weekend. Wickum threw a 0.81 ERA only allowing two hits and one run over the 8.2 innings she pitched. Her 2-0 record over the weekend led the team.
Bengal freshman Megan Meracle earned the first win of her collegiate career, pitching a 0.91 ERA in two appearances and 7.2 innings pitched. Meracle fanned a team-leading nine opponents and only allowed one hit and two walks.
On Deck
The Bengals head to St. George for the Lyman Classic Tournament hosted by Utah Tech Feb. 22-23. The Bengals will face off against San Diego, Utah Tech, UC San Diego and Utah State over the weekend as the Orange and Black continue non-conference play.
