Pocatello, Idaho - The Idaho State Bengals (19-11) dropped the final game of the series with the Saint Mary's Gaels 9-0 in five innings Saturday afternoon.
The Gaels were able to consistently chip away at the Bengal defense scoring two runs in each of the first four innings. Odhi Vasquez, pitching for the Gaels had a stadout performance holding the Orang and Black to just one hit and zero runs scored, the one hit coming from Bengal second-baseman
Kate Hogan in the bottom of the first inning.
SMC took advantage of three home runs and triple to earn the win over the Bengals.
Idaho State is back on the road this coming week with a single game against Nevada followed by the first series of Big Sky Conference play in Sacramento, Calif., taking on the Sac State Hornets.
