POCATELLO, Idaho - The Idaho State Bengals finished up day one of play at the 2025 Big Sky Women's Golf Championships at the Wigwam GC in Litchfield Park, Arizona. The Bengals finished the day with 304 (+20).
The 6th through 10th teams in the field are separated by just four strokes in a tightly packed race.Â
Bengal freshman
Andrea Chin led ISU with a +2 73 on the first 18. Chin had one birdie and 14 pars on the round
Lauren Aasand and
Hailee Cole both finished their first rounds with +5 76's. After a front nine with a double bogey and three bogeys, Cole turned it around on the back carding three consecutive Birdies on 14, 15 and sixteen.Â
Aasand birdied 15 and had a very consistent +2 front nine.Â
After a slow front nine,
Margaret Smock had five-straight pars on the back nine before ending her round with a birdie on 18 to finish +8 79.
Avery Bayer rounded out the Bengals with a +10 81, Bayer's +3 front nine set the stage for her to comeback over the next two rounds.Â
