The Idaho State track and field team closed out a successful California road trip with a strong showing on the second and final day of the Long Beach Invitational, highlighted by personal bests, top finishes, and continued momentum across multiple event groups.

In the
1500m, the women's distance crew once again made noise as
Kamber Smith placed 2nd with a PR of 4:35.61, continuing her strong outdoor campaign.
Sulette Ferreyra Serna followed closely behind with a personal best of 4:44.27 to earn 7th overall. On the men's side,
Sunny Gunn ran a solid 3:53.65 to secure a 3rd place finish, wrapping up a weekend where he also posted a top-10 all-time mark in the event at Bryan Clay.

In the
women's 800m,
Hailey Renzello came just .36 seconds off her own PR—set earlier this weekend—with a time of 2:09.90 to take 2nd place overall. Her time further solidifies her position as the top 800m runner for the Bengals .

The sprints saw
Kylee Dimick notch a new personal best in the
100m hurdles, crossing the line in 14.34 Â seconds. Dimick also showed her versatility in the
high jump, clearing 1.73m (5' 8") to place 4th in a deep field.

The Bengals return to action next Friday, April 25th, at the
Boise State Invitational, where they'll look to keep the momentum rolling as they prepare for ever nearing Big Sky Outdoor Championships. With a strong mix of youth and experience, ISU will aim to build on the wave of PRs and standout performances from their California swing.
