FARMINGTON, Utah – Idaho State junior,
Valentino De Pellegrin, earned his 2nd Big Sky Player of the Week honors this season after guiding the Bengals to a 2-0 week of play while putting together an undefeated week of competition, going 3-0 in his doubles and singles matches to earn his third career Big Sky Men's Tennis Player of the Week accolades.
In two Big Sky matches, on the road versus Eastern Washington & Portland State, last weekend, De Pellegrin would go 3-0 overall, 1-0 with doubles partner,
Victor Sklenka, in the Doubles #1 position, and 2-0 in the #2 singles matches.
In doubles play De Pellegrin and Sklenka would defeat Eastern Washington's Waddock/Dalos, 6-3.
In singles play Valentino would play lights out in the #2 singles spot for both matches for ISU, only allowing his opponents to win a total of 4 sets combined. Against the Eagles, De Pellegrin would take down T. Dalos, 6-2, 6-0, and Portland State's H. Theriault, 6-1, 6-1.
This marks the Bengals third Big Sky Player of the Week award of the season,
Victor Sklenka earning the award earlier this year on Jan. 29th, and Valentino claiming the award just two weeks ago, on April 9th.
