Valentino De Pellegrin Earns Co-Big Sky Player of the Week Honors

FARMINGTON, Utah – Idaho State junior, Valentino De Pellegrin, led the Bengals to a 2-0 week of competition while putting together an undefeated week of play, going 3-0 in his doubles and singles matches to earn his second career Big Sky Men's Tennis Player of the Week accolades.

In two Big Sky matches, at home versus Montana & on the road at Montana State, last weekend, De Pellegrin would go 3-0 overall, 1-0 with doubles partner, Victor Sklenka, in the Doubles #1 position, and 2-0 in the #2 singles matches.

In doubles play De Pellegrin and Sklenka would defeat Montana's Wiger-Nordas/Perez with ease, 6-1, which would help the Bengals secure the doubles point and a 4-3 win over the 2nd place Griz.

In singles play Valentino would play in the #2 singles spot for both matches for ISU. Against Montana, De Pellegrin would take down Montana's B. Wiger-Nordas, 6-2, 6-3, and Montana State's A. Stewart, 6-2, 7-5.

This marks the Bengals second Big Sky Player of the Week award of the season, Victor Sklenka earning the award earlier this year on Jan. 29th.
