BOZEMAN, Montana — Idaho State men's tennis closed out its 2025 fall campaign with a strong showing at the Bobcat Invitational, hosted by Montana State in Bozeman. The event featured competitors from Montana State, Denver, Montana, and Idaho State, providing a competitive close to the fall schedule. The Bengals capped the weekend on a high note, led by Sam Wensley, who captured the Singles Gold Draw Championship with three straight victories.

The Bengals faced a tough Montana State contingent in doubles play to open the weekend.
In additional matches, Ciguenza/Dalos defeated Montana's Bucurescu/Townes, 6–2, before falling to Montana's Tandberg/Watkins 2–6. Maya/Wensley also dropped a 4–6 contest to Tandberg/Watkins.

Sam Wensley opened with a straight-sets quarterfinal win over Montana's Joseph Townes (6–2, 6–1), then rolled past Montana's Duncan McCall in the semifinals (6–4, 6–0). He completed his perfect weekend with a 6–3, 7–6 (7–3) win over Denver's Tom Noltorp to claim the Gold Draw title.

Graduate Assistant Coach Jowan Rawson praised the team's energy and steady development throughout the fall semester.
"Overall it was a great tournament. For the last tournament of the fall, the guys came out with full energy to finish the semester on a high," said Rawson. "The guys have continuously improved over the course of the semester, and it was shown in Bozeman. Sam Wensley had a stellar tournament, winning the gold draw without dropping a set."
