POCATELLO, Idaho - Two Bengal greats in
Jamie Streit (Volleyball) and
Brandon Walker (XC&T/F) have been named Big Sky Scholar Athletes for their work on and off the field.
Celebrating the careers of 22 student-athletes from its full-time members and football affiliates, the Big Sky Conference office has announced the newest 2024-25 Scholar Athlete class.
Jamie Streit graduated from Idaho State University this spring with a 4.0 GPA and a Bachelor's degree in Education with an emphasis in Intradisciplinary Studies. Streit has been selected to the Dean's List and Big Sky All-Academic team all four years at ISU, while also being a 2-time Big Sky All-Conference Second Team selection.

th All-Time in Kills (1,073), 9
th All-Time in Attacks (3,280), and 15
th All-Time in Attack Percentage (.247).
Brandon Walker graduated from ISU with a 4.0 GPA and Bachelor's degrees in Sports & Exercise Science, and Spanish for Healthcare Professionals, as well as earning his Associates in Business. Walker has been named to the Big Sky All-Academic team eight different times while also receiving the ISU Scholar Athlete Award.
To be eligible for this award, the student-athlete must have exhausted his or her intercollegiate athletic eligibility and/or be a member of the graduating class, earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 (on a 4.0) scale, been a participant in a Big Sky-sponsored sport, completed at least two (2) years of intercollegiate competition at the institution, and been a letter winner.
"Being named a Scholar Athlete in your conference is an honor, and I'm incredibly proud of this group for the commitment they've made to their institutions over their course of their careers," Big Sky Commissioner Tom Wistrcill said. "Longevity is something that seems to be losing momentum in college sports, but you wouldn't know that when talking about this group of individuals. From All-Americans, to NFL Draft picks, this is a diverse group that accomplished a lot during their collegiate tenures and will continue to do big things in the future. Thank you for your commitment to your schools, and the Big Sky Conference as a whole."
