POCATELLO, Idaho – Idaho State men's basketball Head Coach,
Ryan Looney announced the hiring of CJ Edwards for the upcoming 2025-26 season.
The Bengals bring in Edwards as an Assistant Coach, joining Idaho State after serving as Head Coach at Lane Community College.
When considering Idaho State as a potential future fit, Edwards said what stood out to him most was, "the opportunity to learn from Coach Looney and the rest of the staff… I truly believe my values align with his and fit right in with what he is building here at Idaho State."
"CJ is very passionate and has great energy", says Looney. "We are blessed that he has decided to join us at ISU."
Edwards is eager to bring his energy, and get to work with the team, "This season I am bringing energy, a fresh voice, and relentless effort to the coaching staff. I am excited to get started and contribute however I can!"
Idaho State's 2025-26 will open up with a November 4
th game at home in Reed Gym against Park University (Gilbert) at 8 P.M.
