FARMINGTON, Utah – Idaho State forward Saydree Cooke has been named the Big Sky Conference Offensive Player of the Week following her standout performance in the Bengals' 2-0 win at UNLV on Sept. 19.
Cooke powered the Idaho State attack with a dynamic showing against the Rebels, recording a goal and an assist to directly factor into both Bengal scores. She set up the game opening goal on a precise pass that led to a Mary Za score, and later scored the insurance goal that capped off the shutout victory.
Her performance underscored her role as one of the Bengals' most reliable offensive threats this season. Cooke's ability to stretch defenses, create scoring opportunities, and deliver in clutch moments has been pivotal to Idaho State's early momentum.
This honor is doubly significant: it is not only Cooke's first career Big Sky weekly award, but she is the first Idaho State player to win Offensive Player of the Week since Nikolina Musto on Oct. 4, 2016.
"Saydree has been such an important piece for us in the attack," Head Coach Dustin Downey said. "She gives us confidence in the final third, and her work rate sets the tone for the entire front line. We're really proud of how she stepped up in a big road match."
