Biography

Idaho State (2024-25): Appeared and started in 30 games, averaging 22.4 minutes, 5.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, 0.3 assists, 0.6 steals and 2.2 blocks... Named 2024-25 Big Sky Freshman of the Year... Otten would lead the Big Sky Conference in Blocks (66) and Blocks per Game (2.28) and finish the regular season ranked 14th in NCAA in Blocks and 16th in Blocks per Game on his way to shattering the Idaho State single season Freshman Blocks record, tying the Big Sky Conference Freshman single season Blocks record set by Eatern Washington's Venky Jois in 2012-13, moving up to 4th place on the ISU single season Blocks leaderboard, and tying himself for 17th place in a single season in Big Sky history... Otten would hold down the Bengals' strong back line that would end up being one of the top defenses in the Big Sky, ending the season ranked 2nd in Blocks per Game (4.8), Scoring Defense, holding opponents to just 69.6 Points per Game, Turnover Margin (+1.4), & 3rd in Turnovers Forced per Game (12.1).

Idaho State: (2023-24): Redshirt season

Redmond High School: Evan Otten finished his senior season at Redmond High School in Redmond, Oregon. The 6-10 forward averaged 16.5 points, 13.1 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks per game, leading the state in rebounding two years in a row. Otten was voted First Team IMC All-Conference, a unanimous First Team State Tournament selection, and a Second Team All-State selection. He was a member of Team Oregon for the WAVOR game and broke his own state tournament record with 48 rebounds in three games.

Personal: Evan is originally from Redmond, Oregon and is majoring in Business. His favorite NFL team is the Pittsburgh Steelers, and if he is not watching sports his favorite TV show is Yellowstone. Evan’s favorite foods are French toast, Panda Express and hamburgers, and if Evan were to choose anyone to play him in his biopic he would choose Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Before game time, Evan likes to listen to J Cole, Drake, 21 Savage, and Tee Grizzley to get him in the zone, and his most memorable moment while playing has been catching bodies. Outside of basketball, he enjoys golfing and just being outside.
