Personal: MaCarhy is originally from Long Beach, California, where he attended Lakewood High School before continuing his collegiate career at Concordia University Irvine. He is majoring in University Studies at Idaho State and chose to become a Bengal because of the opportunity basketball provided. Away from the court, MaCarhy enjoys watching crime and action-packed shows, listing The Rookie as his favorite series and Real Steel among his favorite movies. His favorite athletes are Floyd Mayweather and Kevin Durant, and he typically listens to rap music before games. MaCarhy says earning his first college scholarship remains the most memorable moment of his basketball career and enters Idaho State after earning First Team All-PacWest honors. When it comes to food, breakfast burritos, chicken and rice, and steak with asparagus top his list of favorites. One thing Bengal fans may not know about him, despite his fearless style of play, he admits heights are his strangest irrational fear.
