Personal: Malik is originally from Houston, Texas, and came to Idaho State after attending Inderkum High School and Stanislaus State. He is majoring in University Studies and chose Idaho State because of the opportunity the program presented. Away from basketball, Malik enjoys fishing, swimming, traveling, and spending time outdoors. A fan of the Los Angeles Lakers, Kobe Bryant, and Paul George, he lists biscuits and gravy, sushi, and seafood alfredo among his favorite foods, while Chipotle has become his go-to spot in Pocatello. His most memorable basketball moment came when he had the opportunity to play collegiate basketball alongside his younger brother, Malachi. Malik enters Idaho State after earning two First Team All-League selections in high school and receiving Most Improved Player honors. Before games, he likes to have fruit and an energy drink while listening to Rod Wave, Drake, and Lil Wayne.
