High School: Competed at Folsom High School, where he developed into one of the top ranked shooting guard's in northern California… earned Sierra Foothill League MVP honors and was named to the MaxPreps' California All-State Fifth Team following his senior season… helped lead Folsom to the California Division I State Championship game during the 2025-26 season against future Bengal teammate Eli Garner and Damien High School… averaged 16.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game as a senior while adding 1.0 steals per contest across 35 games… improved in nearly every statistical category from his junior campaign, where he averaged 13.5 points and 3.3 rebounds per game over 32 contests.

Personal: Joven is originally from Folsom, California, where he starred at Folsom High School and helped lead the Bulldogs to a section championship and a Northern California Division I title. He chose Idaho State because of the coaching staff and the culture surrounding the program. Away from basketball, Joven enjoys golfing and says Fuji is his favorite spot in Pocatello. A fan of LeBron James, he enjoys listening to Drake and other laid-back music before games and makes it a point to pray before every tip-off. His most memorable basketball moment came while winning a section championship, and he arrives at Idaho State after scoring more than 1,500 career points, earning unanimous league MVP honors, and being recognized as the top shooting guard in Northern California.
