BENGALS IN ACTION THIS WEEK
Idaho State (14-7, 5-3 BSC) will be splitting its time this week at home and on the road. The Bengals will first host Portland State (13-9, 6-3 BSC) on Thursday, Feb. 10 at 7:05 p.m. at the ICCU Court at Reed Gym. Then the Bengals travel to Northern Arizona (7-15, 2-7 BSC) on Saturday, Feb. 12 to play the Lumberjacks at 6:35 p.m.

PICKERING PERFECT IN OVERTIME TO GIVE ISU OVERTIME VICTORY OVER EAGLES
Senior guard
Chelsea Pickering scored seven of Idaho State's nine points in overtime and blocked a potential game-tying three-pointer with three seconds left in overtime to secure Idaho State's 76-73 overtime victory over Eastern Washington. She recorded 18 points against the Eagles. Pickering was perfect in the overtime period where she scored seven of her 18 points in the hitting 2-of-2 from the field, 1-of-1 from the arc and 2-of-2 from the line.
OAKES STEPS UP AGAINST EASTERN WASHINGTON
Sophomore guard
Kaela Oakes led the Bengals with 19 points hitting 7-of-12 from the field (58.3 percent). She also posted a team-high five assists and notched three rebounds. Oakes posted double-figures against Eastern Washington at Reed Gym notching 15 points hitting 4-of-8 from the field (50 percent).
BENGALS IN DOUBLE-DOUBLES
Andrea Blodgett, a senior guard, posted her first career double-double, the Bengals' third this season with 12 points and a career-high 10 rebounds. Idaho State's other two double-doubles both came from sophomore forward
Ashleigh Vella. Vella recorded a team-high 20 points and 11 rebounds against Sacramento State at Reed Gym and posted a career-high 31 point and 11 rebound effort at Utah in ISU's first ever victory over the Utes.
IDAHO STATE IN THE BIG SKY
Idaho State leads the Big Sky for all-games in field goal percentage at 42.2, in three-point field goal percentage at 36.5, and free throw percentage at 76. Idaho State also leads the conference with 7.3 made three-pointers in Big Sky games.
REED LEADS REBOUNDING EFFORT
Freshman guard
Lindsey Reed leads the Bengals rebounding effort averaging 6.2 per game for the season. In league action Reed has averaged 7.3 rebounds per game. She posted a season-high 10 at Montana State.
BENGALS IMPROVE REBOUNDING MEASURES
Idaho State has greatly improved its rebounding efforts by out-rebounding Sacramento State (+4) and Eastern Washington (+1) and being out-rebounded by one at Eastern Washington. This comes after ISU had been out-rebounded 10-plus at Portland State, at Montana, and at Montana State.
BENGALS ON 12-GAME HOME WIN STREAK
ISU is currently undefeated with an 8-0 record at Reed Gym for the 2010-11 season. Idaho State is on a 12-game home win streak dating back to early February of the 2009-10 season. It is the longest home win streak under Head Coach Sobolewski. Idaho State's longest home win streak was 17 matches from the end of the 1999-00 season to the start of the 2001-02 season. The Bengals were undefeated with a 15-0 home record in 2000-01 and posted an overall record of 25-5; ISU was 16-0 in conference play.
FAST BREAKS ON IDAHO STATE...
• Head Coach Sobolewski became a father on Sunday, February 6 when his first child, daughter, Aubrey Kate Sobolewski was born at the Portneuf Medical Center. She was born on Superbowl Sunday.
• Sophomore forward Vella has posted a career-high two three-pointers in a game five times, two times this season both against Eastern Washington. She also recorded a career-high five steals at Eastern Washington.
• Vella posts the third best single season scoring average at 54 percent. She became eligible for the top-ten list when she made her 100th field goal of the season scoring 15 points at Eastern Washington hitting 4-of-8 from the field. She needs 14 more field goals to reach the top-10 career record at Idaho State.
• Pickering needs one more three-pointer to tie the 9th best three-point field goals made in a career at 84.
• Idaho State's sweep over Sacramento State snapped a three-game losing streak and opened up a three-game win streak as well as improved Idaho State's home game win streak to 12.
• Oakes is a clutch free throw shooter leading the Bengals hitting 19-of-20 from the line in the last two minutes. Oakes missed her first shot at the line in a 1-of-2 effort after being accidentally hit in the stomach by EWU's Tatijana Sparavalo that knocked the wind out of her causing her to miss the first shot.
• Idaho State leads the Big Sky for all games in field goal percentage at 42.2 percent (65th in the nation), in free throw percentage at 76 percent (15th in the nation) and three-point field goal percentage at 36.5 percent (22nd in the nation).
• Under Head Coach Sobolewski Idaho State has had three players post career-highs of 31 points: Oana Iacovita,
Chelsea Pickering (twice) and
Ashleigh Vella.
• Idaho State made history when it defeated Montana Tech 84-51 on New Year's day improving ISU to a 9-4 non-conference record. The win gave Idaho State its best non-conference start in school history.
ABOUT PORTLAND STATE
Portland State is on a five-game win streak and is tied for third in the conference with a 6-3 record. Sophomore Courtney VanBrocklin is the leading threat averaging 14.4 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. Most recently she earned her second straight Big Sky Player of the Week award and after recording a team-high 18 points against Northern Colorado. Portland State leads the series 21-20 having capture the last meeting 89-79 on Jan. 17 at the Peter W. Stott Center when the Vikings hold a 9-1 record this season. However, Portland State is 3-8 on the road. Portland State has won seven of the last eight meetings.
ABOUT NORTHERN ARIZONA
Northern Arizona will host Weber State on Thursday, Feb. 10 at 6:30 p.m. before hosting the Bengals. The Lumberjacks are on a six-game losing streak having played its last three contests on the road. NAU's leading scorer and rebounder is Amy Patton who averages 16.9 points per game and 5.8 rebounds per game. Idaho State leads the series 64-54 with ISU overcoming the Lumberjacks by 10 points, 64-54, at Reed Gym on Jan. 6. Idaho State has won eight of the last 11 meetings.
