POCATELLO, Idaho - Junior
Laura Porras captured ISU's lone victory in ISU's 6-1 loss to Utah State to end the season on Monday at the Logan Sports Academy and Racquet Club. Porras improved her record to 10-6 for the season to lead the Bengals in singles victories.
The Tabio, Colombia native had the last laugh on the season as she was overcome 6-2, 7-5 by Kristina Voytsekhovich in ISU's Big Sky opener, however in the last match of the season Porras came out victorius 6-4, 3-6, 10-6 at the No. 3 position. Porras is 2-0 in third set tiebreakers for the season.
Katharina Marsela was overcome 6-0, 6-3 by Jaclyn West at the No. 1 spot while
Rilee Moorhead fell 6-1, 6-2 by Hailey Swenson at the No. 2 position.
Zamira Vasquez fell 6-2, 6-0 to Julie Tukuafu at the No. 5 spot.
Utah State improved to 11-7 overall and continue on to the Western Athletic Conference Championships in Boise, Idaho. Idaho State ended their season at 3-13.
