Women’s Tennis Drops Match to Northern Arizona

The Bengals are now 2-3 overall and 1-1 in Big Sky play

The Idaho State women’s tennis team dropped a match to Northern Arizona Sunday afternoon.

POCATELLO, Idaho
– The Idaho State women's tennis team dropped a match to Northern Arizona Sunday afternoon. The Bengals fell to the Lumberjacks 7-0 and are now 2-3 overall and 1-1 in Big Sky action.
 
“Northern Arizona is a very good team,” ISU Head Coach Bobby Goeltz said. “We played well but they were too strong.”
 
NAU swept the Bengals in doubles play. Katharina Marsela and Laura Porras lost at the No. 1 spot 8-4 while Rilee Moorhead and Marian Tangarife lost the No. 2 doubles 8-4. NAU's Alice Pacaut and Alice Walker defeated Rachel Ryan and Zamira Vasquez 8-5 at the No. 3 spot.
 
The Lumberjacks also swept in singles action. Marsela fell 6-4, 7-6 (7-1) to Ghizelene Doballah while Porras lost to Hannah Stone. Moorhead lost the No.3 singles 6-2, 6-3 while Tangarife fell to Johanna Vang at the No. 4 spot. Vasquez and Ryan lost at the No. 5 and No. 6 spots respectively.
 
The Bengals play again on Friday, Feb. 24 in a match against Sacramento State. The contest will take place in Sacramento, Calif., and begin at 3 p.m.
