POCATELLO, Idaho – The Idaho State women's tennis team competed against Utah State Thursday afternoon at the indoor courts at Reed Gym. Idaho State dropped the match 7-0 to the Aggies.
“We competed better today than we did against Seattle last weekend,” ISU Head Coach
Bobby Goeltz said. “This is probably the best Utah State team I have seen in the last 20 years. At the end of the day, the only matches that really matter to me are the conference matches but we need to know what better players play like and the only way to do that is to play them. Hopefully we can learn from them and apply the things we learn. It's all part of becoming a better player.”

Marian Tangarife and senior
Rilee Moorhead played a tight match with USU's Kristina Voysekhovich and Romina Nedakovic. Moorhead and Tangarife battled the No. 2 Aggies duo to a final 8-6 decision in Utah State's favor.
Tangarife went on to have the closest singles match of the day at the No. 4 position with Nedakovic. Nedakovic on the first set 7-6 with the tiebreaker and the second set 6-4.
“I was very proud of the way Marian played,” Goeltz said. “She fought hard and didn't give up in the second set. Nedakovic is a very good tennis player, she's tall and has a big serve.”
Women's tennis returns to the court Wednesday, Feb. 15 against Weber State in a home contest. The match will take place at the Reed Gym indoor courts and begin at 3 p.m.
