“I was pleasantly surprised to take the doubles point, knowing the caliber of team Utah is,” ISU Head Coach
Bobby Goeltz said. “We played well in the first sets in singles play; we just couldn't hold it together. This is a very tough place to play but we pushed them and gave them a little bit a scare. We gave them a good match with a relatively young team. Overall, I'm pleased with the overall outcome and I feel like this match is a good barometer for where we are at and where we need to go.”
Utah maintains its perfect record against the Bengals as the Utes are now 11-0 against Idaho State.
The ISU men take on Weber State Sunday, Jan. 20 in Ogden, Utah at 10 a.m. before returning home to Pocatello for a match-up against Montana Friday, Jan. 25 at 3 p.m. The Bengals are 10-13 all-time against the Wildcats and have lost 13 straight since the 2006 season.
