POCATELLO, Idaho- Idaho State men's and women's tennis travels to Las Vegas Nev., for the Las Vegas Tournament this week. ISU's men (5-2, 4-0 BSC) face Southern Utah and Western New Mexico Saturday, March 23. The Bengals then face UNLV Monday, March 25 and Youngstown State Tuesday, March 26.
The Bengal women (1-8, 1-4 BSC) take on Western New Mexico University on Saturday, March 23 at 5 p.m. and again Sunday, March 24 at 2 p.m. The Idaho State women also face Seattle Tuesday, March 26 at 9 a.m.

Austin Miller went on to win their singles match-ups to give ISU the first win over Sacramento State since 2004.
ISU women's tennis fell to Sacramento State 7-0 last week, dropping the team to 1-3 in Big Sky play. Freshmen
Madelyn Weltzin and Wiebka Boeckmann played tight matches but could not edge out the win.

Jamey Swiggart leads the Bengals with a 5-1 singles record and is 4-1 at the No. 5 position. He is followed by senior

Christian Marian who have 4-2 singles records. Gross is 4-1 at the No. 4 position while Marian is 3-2 at the No. 1 position.
In doubles action, sophomores
Andres Coello and
Krzysztof Stempien boast a 5-1 record at the No. 3 position and are undefeated in Big Sky doubles with a 3-0 record.
On the women's side, freshman
Kasey Bacon leads ISU with a 3-6 singles record. She is 3-1 at the No. 2 position. She is followed by sophomore
Marian Tangarife (2-7) and freshman
Laura Theus (2-6).

Madelyn Weltzin lead the Bengals with a 1-2 doubles record. The duo is 1-0 at the No. 3 position.
NORMAN NAMED PLAYER OF THE WEEK
On March 19, the Big Sky Conference announced senior
Charles Norman had been named Big Sky Player of the Week. Norman was the first ISU player since 2009 to be named POTW. Javier Royo had been the previous Bengal to earn the weekly honor. Norman and doubles partner,
Nate Gross, defeated No. 80 ranked Malko and Marksoo of Sacramento State before Norman went on to defeat Malko at the No. 2 singles.
ABOUT SOUTHERN UTAH AND SERIES HISTORY
Southern Utah's men are 0-3 on the season as well as 0-3 in Big Sky play with 7-0 losses to Montana (Feb. 16), Montana State (Feb. 17) and Sacramento State (March 16). This will be the first meeting between the two programs. The contest will not count as a conference match-up.
ABOUT WESTERN NEW MEXICO AND SERIES HISTORY
The Western New Mexico men are 5-9 on the season. Francisco Damasio leads in singles action with a 9-4 record. Rodrigo Almeida and Juan Pablo Fuentes are the Mustangs' top doubles duo with an 8-7 record at the No. 1 position. The series between the two programs is tied. ISU won the last contest 4-3 last season.
ABOUT UNLV AND SERIES HISTORY
UNLV is 9-4 on the season. Ace Matias leads the Rebels with a 16-6 singles record and is 9-2 at the No. 1 position. Matias and Bernard Schoeman lead UNLV in doubles with a 7-4 record. UNLV leads the series 4-0 and won the last contest on Feb. 12, 2011 6-1.
ABOUT YOUNGSTOWN STATE AND SERIES HISTORY
Youngstown State is 6-5 on the season. Rodrigo Campos leads the Penguins with an 11-8 singles record. He is 3-1 at the No. 4 position. Sebastian Hagn and Dawoud Kabli lead Youngstown State in doubles action with a 6-2. This will be the first meeting between the two programs.
ABOUT WESTERN NEW MEXICO AND SERIES HISTORY
Western New Mexico's women are 5-11 on the season and are led by Ganna Tiurina with a 9-6 singles record at the No. 1 position. Doubles duos Ashley Newell and Tiurina and Doris Berberic and Diamon Morrill lead the Mustangs with 5-10 records. Newell and Tiurina are 5-10 at the No. 1 spot and Berberic and Diamond are 4-5 at the No. 5 position. ISU leads the series 1-0 with a 7-0 win over WNMU on March 23, 2011.
ABOUT SEATTLE UNIVERSITY AND SERIES HISTORY
Seattle is 3-5 on the season and led by Sarah Lucas with an 8-8 singles record. Lucas is 3-5 in dual singles action and plays at the No. 4 and No. 5 positions. Seattle leads the series 3-0 and won the last contest 6-1 on March 23, 2012 in Las Vegas, Nev.
