ABOUT IDAHO STATE
The defending Big Sky champion Idaho State soccer team returns home after falling to a punishing Texas Tech team in Lubbock. The Bengals will start another home stand including games with Utah Valley and Utah State.

The Bengals return seven starters from the 2012 season including Big Sky co-Offensive MVP junior Amanda Ellsworth, Big Sky Tournament MVP sophomore Sheridan Hapsic, All-Big Sky Second Team member senior Allyson Stainbrook, and Honorable Mention All-Big Sky honorees sophomore Vanessa Cabilan and junior Taylor McBride.

Reigning Big Sky Coach of the Year Allison Gibson leads the Bengals in her eighth season. Fourth year coach Stephanie Beall remains Gibson's right hand and former player Megan Beckstead joins the Bengal staff.

LAST MATCH: IDAHO STATE LOOSES TO TEXAS TECH 3-0
Amanda Ellsworth tallied a shot on goal in the seventh minute of Idaho State's road soccer match against 23rd ranked Texas Tech Friday night. That would be the only shot the Bengals would attempt the entire game as the Red Raiders outshot ISU 27-1 en route to a 3-0 victory.

The first Red Raider goal came in the 13th minute when sophomore Janine Beckie scored off a long pass from teammate Hayley Haagsma.

The Bengal defense then found a grove behind starting goalkeeper Sheridan Hapsic. She tied her career high with 10 saves in 71 minutes in goal. She also faced 23 shots on the evening.

With just under three minutes left in the first half the Red Raiders again found the back of the net when Maddy Crabtree received a centering pass from Meagan McCullough and sent it past Hapsic for the 2-0 lead.

The Bengal defense again tightened to start the second half but in the 71st minute Maria Dela Cruz replaced Hapsic at goal. Just over a minute later Alli Murphy beat her defender and then Dela Cruz for the third Red Raider goal of the match.

ELLSWORTH, STAINBROOK SWEEP BIG SKY PLAYER OF THE WEEK AWARDS
The Big Sky Conference announced its women's soccer players of the week for matches played from August 23 - August 26.  Idaho State swept the honors as forward Amanda Ellsworth was named the Offensive Player of the Week and defender Allyson Stainbrook earned the Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Ellsworth, a junior from Roseville, Calif., scored two goals and added an assist to help lead Idaho State to a sweep of Boise State and Idaho.

Allyson Stainbrook, a senior from South Jordan, Utah, set the tone for a defense that gave up just one goal in 187 minutes of play over the weekend against Boise State and Idaho.  Stainbrook's presence on the back line was key to holding Boise State and Idaho to a combined 7 shots on goal.

ABOUT UTAH VALLEY
The Wolverines come into Tuesday's match with a 0-3 record but all three of those decisions came by one goal to tough teams. They lost to UTEP 4-2 in El Paso, Utah State 1-0 in Logan and to Weber State at home 2-1(2OT).

Last season the Bengals defeated the Wolverines 2-1 in a overtime match in Ogden.

In the first season in the Western Athletic Conference the Wolverines tied for the second spot in the preseason poll with Idaho.

Haley Curtis, Natalie Baker and Kali Stubbs have each scored a goal to lead UVU this season.

The Wolverines are coached by Eighth year coach Brent Anderson. He has a 64-69-7 in his tenure at Utah Valley.
