Women's Basketball Continues Road Trip at Sacramento State Saturday

POCATELLO, Idaho –
The Idaho State women's basketball team continues play on the road this Saturday as it faces Sacramento State at 3 p.m. MST at The Nest in Sacramento, Calif.

BENGALS PREVIEW

· Idaho State returned to the winning track in style Thursday night with an 88-59 win at Portland State. The Bengals shot a season-best 61.2 percent from the field including a season-best 61.1 percent from long range to cruise past the Vikings.

· Through 17 games, the Bengals are averaging 70.6 points per game shooting 44.3 percent from the floor to lead the Big Sky, and a conference-best 39.0 percent from three. ISU averages 39.5 rebounds per game with a conference-best +7.0 rebounding margin to go along with 7.5 steals per game and 14.9 assists per game. The Bengals also boast a conference-best +10.1 scoring margin.

· Idaho State is led in scoring by Blair at 14.7 points per game. Grace Kenyon and Estefania Ors also averages double-figures for the Bengals with 11.6 and 10.1 points per game, respectively. Sai Tapasa and Saylair Grandon are close behind at 9.5 and 9.4 points per game.

· Sai Tapasa leads the rebounding effort with a 6.9 per game average while Kenyon averages 6.6 per contest.

SCOUTING SACRAMENTO STATE

· Sacramento State is 3-14 overall on the season with a 1-5 mark in conference play. The Hornets' lone conference win was a 79-64 win over Idaho in Sacramento on Jan. 4.

· Through 17 games, the Hornets average 69.2 points per game shooting 36.6 percent from the floor and 29.6 percent from long range. Sac State averages 37.9 rebounds per game but carry a -7.3 rebounding margin on the season which ranks 11th in the Big Sky. The Hornets average 15.2 turnovers per contest and 9.1 steals per game.

· Three players average double-figures for the Hornets, led by Hannah Friend with 17.5 points per game (7th in Big Sky). Maranne Johnson and Dana DeGraffenreid also average double figures with 15.8 and 10.2 points per game, respectively.

· Three players average at least six rebounds as Kennedy Nicholas, Friend and Johnson all average 6.1 boards per contest.

· The Hornets are led by Head Coach Bunky Harkleroad who is in his fourth season with the program.

· SERIES REVIEW: Idaho State leads the all-time series 36-7, but Sacramento State has won four of the last five meetings. In the last meeting, Idaho State bested the Hornets 79-60 in Pocatello on Feb. 11, 2017.
