Women's Basketball Faces Eastern Washington Saturday

POCATELLO, Idaho –
The Idaho State women's basketball team continues play on the road with a Saturday afternoon game at Eastern Washington. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m. MST at Reese Court in Cheney, Wash.

BENGALS PREVIEW

· The Bengals are on a four-game win streak following Thursday's big 62-52 win over Idaho. ISU snapped the Vandals' conference-best nine-game win streak and moved into third place in the Big Sky conference standings with the win.

· Through 26 games, the Bengals are averaging 70.7 points per game shooting 45.2 percent from the floor to lead the Big Sky and 36.7 percent from three. ISU averages 38.0 rebounds per game with a +5.5 rebounding margin to go along with 7.6 steals per game and 14.7 assists per game. The Bengals also boast a conference-best +9.2 scoring margin.

· Idaho State is led in scoring by Blair at 13.4 points per game. Grace Kenyon, Estefania Ors and Saylair Grandon also average double-figures for the Bengals at 12.8, 10.6 and 10.0 points per game, respectively.

· Kenyon leads the rebounding effort with 6.8 rebounds per contest while Sai Tapasa adds 6.2.

· Head Coach Seton Sobolewski is in his 10th season with the program and carries a 168-139 overall record (.547) and has led the team to two postseason tournament appearances: one NCAA tournament berth and one WNIT tournament appearance.

SCOUTING EASTERN WASHINGTON

· Through 27 games, EWU carries a 14-13 overall record with a 9-6 mark in conference play. The Eagles are fresh off a 77-68 home win over Weber State to move into a three-way tie for fourth place in the conference standings. In the win, senior forward Delaney Hodgins became the first player in EWU history to surpass 2,000 career points.

· Eastern Washington averages 66.3 points per game shooting 40.5 percent from the floor and 29.4 percent from long range. The Eagles also average 35.4 rebounds per contest, 13.3 assists per game and 11.1 steals per game.

· EWU is led in scoring by Hodgins, who ranks second in the conference at 21.4 points per game. Violet Kapri Morrow also averages double-figures for the Eags at 14.9 points per contest. Hodgins also leads the effort on the glass, averaging a team-best 7.4 rebounds per game.

· EWU is led by Head Coach Wendy Schuller who is in her 17th season with the program.

· SERIES REVIEW: Eastern Washington leads the overall series 40-36 with a 24-12 advantage in Cheney. The Eagles have won seven of the last 10 meetings and four of the last five. In the last meeting, EWU bested ISU 61-58 in Pocatello on Feb. 25, 2017.
