POCATELLO, Idaho -- Louise-Mare Botes has been named the Big Sky Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week. The junior helped Idaho State finish 1-1 last week with a win against Montana State and a tight loss to Montana.
Botes did not drop a set while playing at the No. 2 position in both singles and doubles. Against Montana, she and
Alexandra Arkhipov topped their opposition 6-4 before Botes claimed one of ISU's two singles victories. She defeated UM's Lauren Dunlap 6-1, 6-2.
Against Montana State, she and Arkhipov won doubles once again before Botes handed MSU's Annie Walker a 6-2, 6-3 loss in solo play.
This is the third player of the week honor of Botes' career. She has won one award in each of her three seasons.
The women's tennis team is back in action on Monday, March 18, against Arizona Christian University.
