Bengals Return From Long Road Trip to Take on Carroll College

POCATELLO, Idaho – After a long six game stretch on the road, the Bengals are back in Reed gym hosting Carroll College Wednesday morning.

Tip is set for 11 a.m. Live Stats of the game will be available. Video broadcast of the game will be on ESPN+ and Mark Liptak will be on the call on KISU 91.1.

Bengal Bites

·        Coming into the Carroll College game, the Bengals played the 19th most difficult SOS in the country this non-conference season.

·        In the game against Park on 11/13/21, Montana Oltrogge passed 500 career points.

·        The 109-56 win over park was the 2nd highest scoring game in Bengal history. (first place was a 113-107 win against Weber State in the Big Sky Tournament.)

·        The 53-point differential was the fourth highest in program history.

·        The Bengals 34 assists were one shy of the overall ISU record (35 vs NAU on 2-15-1992)

·        In the game against Missouri, Ellie Smith Passed Grace Kenyon for 9th all time in career blocks (105 total)

·        Tomekia Whitman is ranked 5th in the conference in steals, averaging 2.3/game.

·        The 22-4 2020-21 final season record was an .846-win percentage. That is the best single season mark in program history breaking the old record of .833 set by the 25-5, 2000-2001 club.

·        It was the fourth NCAA appearance by the ISU woman since the start of the 2000-2001 season. They have also made five WNIT appearances in that time.

Since the Big Sky moved the post season tournament to a neutral site starting in the 2015-2016 season, ISU is now 12-5.

·        Overall ISU is now 16-11 in the Big Sky Conference post season tournament under Seton.

·        The 22 wins marked the seventh time in program history they have accomplished this (20+). It has happened under Seton as head coach four times, and three times in the last four years.

·        They finished the season 11-0 at home. It was only the second time in program history a club went undefeated at home for the year. The 2000-2001 team went 15-0 counting the two games in the post season tournament played in Pocatello.

·        Ellie Smith is now in eighth place all-time in blocked shots with 108. Next up is Natalie Doma who played

from 2004-2008. She blocked 110 shots.

·        Estefie Ors has scored 1,421points, she is now sixth all-time. Next up, fifth on the list, is Grace Kenyon with 1,471 points. Ors is now tied in seventh place with Andrea Lightfoot at 491 made field goals. She played from 2005-2008. Next up is Charly Bond at 492, she played from 1976-1980. She now has 210 made three-point shots in her career the best ever for the program.  She became the 15th player in ISU WBB history with at least 1,000 points and at least 500 rebounds when she had three boards vs. Toledo in the Cancun Classic. Ors also needs five assists to give her 300 which would tie her for 10th place all- time with Jennifer Griffin who played from 1998-2002.

·        Estefie has played in 133 games for ISU. That is the all-time program record.

·        Dora Goles is now in fifth place with 150 made three-point shots. Fourth on the list is Chris Urbanski who made 172 three-pointers in her career which spanned from 1997 through 2001.  She needs 11 points for 1,000 in her career. She'd become the 21 st ISU WBB player to hit that mark.

·        Goles is now ninth all-time in made field goals with 470. Next up is Lindsey Reed at 486. Reed played from 2010-2014. She needs four steals to tie for 10 th place all-time at 142 with Stacey Nelson who played from 1993-1997 and Grace Kenyon who played from 2014-2019.

·        Montana Oltrogge needs three more made three-point shots for 100 in her career.

11 - Points Dora Goles needs to become the 21st member of the ISU 1,000 points club.

3 – Number of Blocks Ellie Smith needs to pass Natalie Doma for seventh all-time in the ISU record book.

9 – Number of Field Goals Estefania Ors needs to make for 500 in her career.

2.5 – Number of Steals per Game Tomekia Whitman is averaging, ranking her 2nd in the conference.

Quick Scout and Series History – Carroll College

·        The Carroll College Saints are 11-2 this season in NAIA Div. I play.

·        The Saints only NCAA DI opponent so far has been Montana State, a 69-60 loss in Bozeman.

·        The Saints only other loss this season came to Thomas Moore University, a one-point 74-73 loss.

·        Carroll is averaging 78.5 points per game while holding opponents to 55 ppg.

·        As a team, the Saints are shooting 48.9 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from behind the three-point arc. The Saints have held opponents to 24 percent shooting from behind the three-point arc.

·        #4 Danielle Wagner leads the Saints in scoring averaging 16.8 ppg. She also leads in three-pointers 43 made three-pointers for a 47.8 3PM percentage. She averages 6.9 made per game..

Their Previous meeting was a 61-48 ISU victory in November of 2013.
