POCATELLO, Idaho – Idaho State track and field finished up day one of the Utah/Weber Spring Classic in Salt Lake City Friday Afternoon.
The Bengal distance runners participated in the majority of Friday's events.
In the women's 3000m steeplechase, Madi Kenyon and Keeley Wolf finished third and fourth. Kenyon crossed the line in 11:22.02 and Wolf followed just behind in 11:23.79.
In the women's 5000m, Mya Mitton set a new personal best with a top-10 finish time of 18:36.00.
In her first outdoor long jump, Bengal freshman Kaila Mederios finished 10th out of a field of 26 jumpers with a new personal best distance of 5.44m (17-10.25)
Two Bengal alumni competed in the men's long jump. Treyshon Malone won the event and Tyson Gunter came in sixth.
The meet continues tomorrow with the remainder of events. The throwing events will be held on Idaho State campus at Miller Ranch and Bartz Field starting with the hammer throw at 11:30 AM.
