POCATELLO, Idaho – The Idaho State Bengals wrapped up the first cross country meet of the season in Orem, Utah, Friday morning.
"Today's meet was really a formality for us and was meant to just get an early-season rust buster out of the way," remarked Head Coach Nate Houle. Â "We sat some of our top runners this weekend and held them back for the first couple miles. We stayed together for 2 miles then I let them open up a bit the final mile to see where they were. Weather this year was much better than last year which was great and it's always nice to kick off a new season! I was proud of all the newcomers getting in there and representing their new team and school well!"
The Bengals top finisher on the women's side was Olivia Kendall with a time of 19.18.6
On the men's side, Brandon Walker crossed the line first with a time of 15:25.3
The next meet for the Bengals is on the home track for the 2023 ISU Bengal Invitational at Centennial Course. The race kicks off Friday Sept. 22
