POCATELLO, Idaho – Six members of the Idaho State Men's Tennis team have earned All-Conference honors. The Bengals will head into the Big Sky Tournament as the #3 seed after going 13-9 overall and 5-3 in conference play.
Leading the way for Idaho State was
Valentino De Pellegrin. The sophomore out of Neuquen, Argentina was named to the All-Big Sky Singles First Team as well as All-Big Sky Doubles First Team with teammate,
Victor Sklenka.
Andreas Kramer and
Wikus Robbertse were both called to the All-Big Sky Singles Second Team and rounding out the awards for the squad,
Ege Cankus and
Hiroki Fujita would be named to the All-Big Sky Doubles Second Team.
Valentino De Pellegrin has been selected to the All-Big Sky Singles First Team after a 13-8 overall record this season and a 5-3 record in conference play, going 7-4 in the #1 and 5-2 in the #2 singles spot for the Bengals this year. De Pellegrin is Idaho State's first Big Sky Singles First Team selection since Patrik Thrac in the 2021-22 season.
Andreas Kramer, a senior out of Schmida, Austria, would finish this year being named to the All-Big Sky Singles Second Team. As Kramer would end this season with a 12-7 overall record and 4-3 record in Big Sky play, going 10-5 in the #3 singles position for Idaho State this year.
Wikus Robbertse would join his doubles partner on the Second Team list, as Robbertse, a senior from Stellenbosch, South Africa would also earn All-Big Sky Singles Second Team honors. Robbertse would end his senior campaign with a 17-3 overall record and 7-1 record in Big Sky play. Robbertse would end this season 8-1 in the #5 singles position and 8-1 in the #6 singles position for the Bengals.
Valentino De Pellegrin and teammate,
Victor Sklenka, junior out of Prague, Czech Republic, have been named to the All-Big Sky Doubles First Team. The duo would end the season with a 9-8 overall record and 4-4 record in Big Sky play as the Bengal tandem would play in the #1 doubles spot the entire season for Idaho State.
Ege Cankus, senior from Izmir, Turkey, and
Hiroki Fujita, senior from Ryugasaki, Ibaraki, Japan, have been named to the All-Big Sky Doubles Second Team following an 11-6 record on the season and 4-3 record in Big Sky play. The Bengal duo would end their year going 9-5 in the #3 doubles spot for ISU.
Attention now turns to Phoenix, as the 2024 Big Sky Women's Tennis Championship starts on April 25
th-27
