Bengal Basketball Signs Cheikh Sow For 2024-25 Season

Idaho State Basketball and Head Coach Ryan Looney have announced the signing of Cheikh Sow for the 2024-25 season.

Sow is a 6-7 guard originally from Thies, Senegal and played his freshman and sophomore seasons at Cloud County Community College. While at Cloud County CC, Sow appeared in 52 contests, starting in 51 of them, averaged 10.9 points on 44.5% shooting from the field, 7.1 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1.8 assists per game. This past season Sow would put up 12.8 PPG, a team-best 7.6 RPG, 2.2 SPG, & 2.1 APG.

Sow was named to the Second Team All-Conference for this past season as he helped guide Cloud County Community College to a 21-11 overall record, and 15-9 in conference play, the T-Birds first 20-win season since 2016-17.

"Cheikh Sow is a great get for our program. He has great size and length, and plays with a great motor. His versatility on offense will make him a valuable asset in the Big Sky. Fans are going to love his personality and attitude." said Looney.

As a freshman at Cloud County CC, Sow averaged 8 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.8 steals, and 1.3 assists per game.

Sow is the eighth student-athlete to sign with the Bengals for 2024-25. Idaho State returns two letterwinners and two redshirts from this past season when the Bengals were 14-20 overall & 7-11 in Big Sky play, and made it to the Big Sky Tournament Semifinals for the first time since 2009.
