Bengals Back Home for Big Sky Preview Meet

Aggressive Mindset Forming Under Head Coach Zach Kughn

Pocatello, ID - Idaho State Cross Country has officially arrived, and the Zach Kughn era as head coach has begun.

Now, ISU fans will get the first of two chances to see their racers at home this fall, as the Riverside Golf Course is expecting an outbreak of running Bengals for the Big Sky Preview race on Friday, Sept. 20. Weber State and Snow College will be traveling up from Utah to compete in Pocatello.

The race will feature a men's 8K beginning at 11:00am and a women's 5K to follow at noon. An open/alumni 4K race will close the day at 12:30pm.

After witnessing just one race as the Bengals head coach, Zach Kughn is seeing the mindset change and expectations rise in his runners.

"I've been trying to get our teams to be focused and excited about setting a higher bar and competing well in our conference. It's been a bit of a mindset shift, so I'm looking forward to seeing who is willing to be aggressive out there on Friday," said Kughn.

"We've had a good couple of weeks of training since our first meet so I'm excited to see where our fitness is at."

More details about the race can be found below.
