POCATELLO, Idaho - After nearly a month on the road, the Idaho State women's basketball team is back home in Pocatello to open the start of the 2024-25 Big Sky Conference Basketball Season. The Bengals will first take on the 9-4 NAU Lumberjacks, Thursday in Reed Gym at 7:00 PM. The Bengals then welcome the 7-4 Northern Colorado Bears to Reed, Saturday at 2:00 PM MT.Â
Both games will be broadcast on ESPN+ and KISU, live stats will also be available for both contests.Â

The Bengals are coming off of a tough 51-50 loss to Northern Illinois on December 20 and it will have been 13 days since the Orange and Black took to the hardwood.Â
At the end of non-conference play, the Bengals are in 6th place in the Big Sky Standings with a 5-6 record. Only one team in the Big Sky broke double-digit wins during non-conference play, Montana State who is sitting at 10-2 on the year.Â
 ISU struggled offensively during non-conference play, averaging 58.4 ppg, 2nd worst in the conference. Defensively, the Bengals are top-half of the Big Sky allowing only 62.2 points out of their opponents through 11 games.Â
The Bengals are the No. 2 offensive rebounding team in the conference, grabbing 13.3 o-boards a game, just behind EWU at 13.8.Â
As part of their strong defense, the Bengals lead the Big Sky in Blocked shots, averaging 4.00 per game.Â
Sophia Covello ends non-con play 6th in three point shooting in the Big Sky and Halle Wright is 5th in Blocked shots in the conference.Â
Looking Ahead
The Bengals open conference play with the two games, next week, Idaho State only has one game, against Weber State in Ogden on January 11 at 7:00 PM.Â
