Axel's legacy will continue on as school record marks and a multitude of accolades as well as the impact he left on the team as an individual.
Coach
Hillary Merkley reflected on Axel's impact and career he had in the Orange and Black, "He has had an incredible career and set a high standard for future Bengals....his accolades are tremendous accomplishments, but what stands out most is the person behind the performances." She goes on to state that, "Axel's journey hasn't always been easy, yet he approached every challenge with determination and quiet confidence, while never seeking attention or recognition, and watching him achieve his dreams has been incredibly regarding, and we couldn't be more proud of everything he has accomplished."
Everyone in ISU Athletics thanks Axel for his hard work and dedication to representing the best of what the Bengals are and wish him well in his future endeavors.
