Eugene, OR - The culmination of months of hard work all comes down to this week at Hayward Field for the NCAA D1 Track and Field Championships, as athletes from all over the country descend on Eugene to chase All-American honors and National titles. Within the competitor list,
Axel Tirado-Sanchez represents the Bengals in the discus as he looks to finish his collegiate career with some hardware from the Championships.
After a lengthy season, where he once again won the Big Sky title in the event and made his mark in the NCAA West Region qualifiers, Axel turns to the last meet of his ISU career this Friday in Eugene. He is lined up to throw 6th in the second flight of the discus, with an entry mark of 58.69m and will have three throws to advance to finals, where he will look to secure a top-8 finish and an All-American accolade under his name. Spectators can watch the meet in person at Hayward Field, or on ESPN2
(HERE). Coverage of the discus will start with the first flight at 3:15 p.m. MT and Axel will start his throws after the first flight.
The entire ISU Athletics Team wishes Axel the best of luck at the meet, as this concludes the 25/26 NCAA Championship season for the Bengals.
