Bengals Prepare for Contest at Portland State

POCATELLO, Idaho- Idaho State plays its first Big Sky Conference road game of the season on Saturday, Oct. 6, at 6 p.m. (MST) at Jeld-Wen Field. The game will broadcast live on the radio at 102.5 KMGI or 930 KSEI with the pregame show starting at 5 p.m. The game will also be seen on television in the Portland area on Comcast Sportsnet Northwest (channel 37/HD 737).  Log onto isubengals.com for information on Saturday's game.

Portland State comes into Saturday's game with a 1-4 record and an 0-2 mark in Big Sky Conference play. PSU is averaging 28 points a game and 398 yards of total offense. The Vikings are averaging 172.6 yards on the ground and 226.2 yards passing. Ian Sluss is the top tackler with 58 while Khalil Bass has 47 tackles.

Idaho State leads the overall series 23-13-1. Portland State has won the last two meetings with ISU last winning, 41-34 in Pocatello on Nov. 14, 2009. The last time Idaho State beat the Vikings in Portland was a 43-41 victory on Sept. 26, 1998.

Kevin Yost ranks first in passing yards (365) and first in total offense (355.5). Derek Graves ranks first in receptions at nine and sixth in receiving yards at 76.5. Cameron Richmond ranks second in receptions at 7.5 and fourth in receiving yards at 83.8. Josh Hill ranks fourth in receptions at 6.25 and 10th in receiving yards at 60.5 while Luke Austin averages 5.25 receptions and 76.5 receiving yards.

Game Notes from Sacramento State Game
- Josh Hill had a career high 12 receptions and a career high 123 yards receiving.
Rodrick Rumble had his ninth career double figure reception game with 11 and183 yards. 183 receiving yards is his second-best performance of his career. For his career he now ranks seventh in receiving yards with 2,079. Brett Fowler is ranked sixth with 2,179 yards. Rumble has 166 career receptions and needs seven to pass Ed Bell to move into fourth place.
- Kevin Yost's 73 passing attempts is the second-best single-game performance. Paul Peterson had 74 attempts at Nevada in 1983.
- Kevin Yosts 44 completions is the second-best single game performance, only to his 47 he had against Northern Colorado in the Big Sky.

Returning Receivers
The returning receiving corp of Rodrick Rumble, Josh Hill, Derek Graves and Luke Austin combined to catch 238 of the 336 completions in 2011, good for 70.8 percent of the of the completions by the Bengal quarterbacks. That group picked up right where they left off in the season-opener as they caught 29 of Kevin Yosts 42 completions at Air Force. Through four games, the foursome has caught 96 of the 156 passes thrown their way.
