LOGAN, Utah – Idaho State track and field wrapped up action at the Mark Faldmo Invitational with several top performances on Saturday, April 15.

"I thought everyone did a solid job this weekend on the big stage and on the smaller stage," said Head Coach
Hillary Merkley. "Overall I think people are taking care of business and putting themselves in a position to be able to be successful."

Andrew Kaler and
Tucker Boyd started the action on the oval in the men's 3,000m steeplechase. Kaler crossed the line in second with 9:40.05 on the clock and Boyd finished ten seconds later in fourth.

The men had another back-to-back finish in the 1,500m race with
Conner Oswald and
Joseph Petty taking fourth and fifth respectively. Oswald finished with a time of 4:06.95 and Petty set a personal record at 4:09.60.

In the women's 1,500m race,
Korbin Traughber finished fifth with her fastest time of the season. The senior clocked in at 4:48.72.

Taylor Hewett also set a season best in the 800m. Hewett placed third after crossing the line at the 2:15.20 mark.
Jesse Allen finished fifth in the men's 800m with a personal record time of 1:54.71.

Running half that distance in the women's 400m dash,
Sophia Cunningham earned fourth place with a 58.30 finish.

Field
In the field, Fondereaux Wilson won an uncontested triple jump title with a 13.63m (44-8 3/4) effort.

Oscar Klassen set a personal record in the high jump with a clear at 1.90m (6-2 3/4) to secure third place.

In the long jump, Kyle LeBlanc finished fourth with a 6.90m (22-7 3/4) leap.

The Bengals head to Provo, Utah next weekend for the Robison Invitational. The Robison Invitational is the last competition on schedule for ISU before the 2017 Big Sky Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships starting May 10.
