POCATELLO, Idaho- Idaho State men's tennis graduate Sebastian Edin has been awarded a NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship in the amount of $10,000. Edin, who graduated from Idaho State in 2017, majored in Economics and finished with a 4.0 GPA.
Edin is the fourth Bengal in the last three years to receive this award.
William Edin, Erik Nakken and Austin Campbell have also received this honor. The NCAA awards only 15 per season nationally across all sports and all divisions. Edin's twin brother, William, received the honor two years ago.
"This is a big honor," Sebastian said. "It is cool that my brother and I have both received the scholarship. To achieve this is amazing."
In addition to playing at ISU, he tennis was president of Idaho State's Economic Club, an ASISU Supreme Court Justice and was Vice President of SAAC.
"I want to thank the faculty and staff at Idaho State," Edin said. "They gave me an incredible opportunity that I am grateful for.
As a player, Edin earned all-conference honors in 2017. Since graduating he has been working for OrthoGrid Systems in Salt Lake City as its Regulatory Affairs Manager.
Sebastian will join his brother William at Harvard this fall to study Law. While the first semester at Harvard is still going to be online due to COVID-19, Sebastian is set to move out to Boston to join his brother in the coming weeks.
