Women's Tennis Earns Two 7-0 Wins

Box Score 1 POCATELLO, Idaho – The Idaho State women's tennis team improved to 7-3 after two 7-0 wins in Reed Gym on Saturday. 
 
"The girls competed very well today," said Head Coach Gretchen Maloney. "In our match against Dixie we had some really close three setters. Both Hana and Hristina were not feeling it and figured out a way to win. Adriene also came through in a tough three setter. Our goal today was consistency and we did that well."

In doubles play, the Bengals claimed all three matches to earn the doubles point. Megan Lang-Gould and Angela Walker started things off strong, winning 6-0 at the No. 3 spot. Lola O'Lideadha and Sol O'Lideadha quickly followed with a 6-3 win at the No. 2 spot. Hristina Cvetkovic and Hana Cho finished things off with a 7-5 win at No. 1. 
 
In singles play, the Bengals continued to dominate. Lang-Gould claimed the first win at the No. 3 spot, only dropping 3 games in her 6-2, 6-1 victory. Lola O'Lideadha earned the next win with another strong performance at the No. 4 spot, 6-2, 6-2. 
 
Dixie State played tough in the No. 1 spot forcing a third set but Cvetkovic prevailed, earning a 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 win to put the Bengals up 4-0. Cho was next to collect a win after also going into a third set battle with her opponent but came away successful with a score of 6-2, 4-6, 6-2. 
 
In the last two matches of the Dixie State match, Keilyn Kunimoto breezed past her opponent at the No. 6 spot, winning 6-1, 6-0. Adriene Pavek then earned a hard-fought battle to finish things off for the Bengals. Pavek's match went to a deciding match tiebreaker for the third set, but she closed out the match, winning 6-7(5), 6-4, 10-8. 
 
College of Idaho Recap
 
The Bengals used the momentum from their win against Dixie State in the morning to propel them to another 7-0 win in the afternoon over the College of Idaho. 
 
"In our College of Idaho match, the girls set some individual goals and executed them well," said Head Coach Gretchen Maloney. "In doubles, we attacked the net well. In singles, we kept the ball deep and attacked when we had the opportunity."
 
Cvetkovic and Cho were successful at the No. 1 spot with a 6-1 victory. Kunimoto and Pavek played the No. 3 spot and also came away with the 6-1 win. Lang-Gould and Walker played the No. 2 spot, defeating their opponents 6-2. 
 
Walker was the first to earn a singles win, defeating her opponent 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 4 spot. Lola O'Lideadha was quick to follow with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at the No. 3 spot. Cho dominated at No. 2, going 6-2, 6-0 with her opponent. At No. 1, Cvetkovic swept past her opponent 6-1, 6-1. Kunimoto at No. 6 and Pavek at No. 5 both defeated their opponents with scores of 6-0, 6-1 to finish things off strong for the Bengals.
 
The Bengals return to play another home match at Reed Gym on Sunday, March 14 when they take on Utah State at 11 a.m.
