Idaho State Track and Field Conclude Four Day Meet at BYU

POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State track and field team concluded four days of competition Saturday, April 24 in Provo, Utah.
 
Women's Meet
 
Brianna VanVleet won the triple jump after competing in the heptathlon Wednesday and Thursday with a jump of 11.58m (38').
 
The Bengals topped the podium in the pole vault. Jessica Swannack won the event with a jump of 3.96m (13'), a season best so far. Brooke Anger followed in second place jumping 3.86m (12' 8"). Louise Lallement jumped 3.71m (12' 2") for sixth place.
 
Kapri Orton placed second in the high jump with a jump of 1.71m (5' 7.25"), this height is .5 inches off her personal best.
 
Elizabeth Butler placed third overall in the 400m, she ran a time of 54.79 seconds.
 
In the 3000m Steeplechase, Haven Lambrite finished fourth with a time of 11:39.39.
 
Mary Kate Marshall and Presley Timmons were among the top eight finishers in the 800m, running 2:15 for fifth place and 2:15.39 for seventh place, respectively.
 
Ashley Vanvleet-Sturgis placed sixth in the long jump with a jump of 5.53m (18' 1.75")
 
Men's Meet
 
Tanner Conner is back racing for the Bengals after completing the 2021 Spring football season. Conner placed second in the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.40 seconds. He also placed eight in the 100m dash with a time of 11.13 seconds.
 
In the hammer throw, Leo Finsterbusch took home second place with a throw of 54.76m (179' 8").
 
Cal Duke earned a new personal best in the 400m hurdles this weekend, running a time of 53.15 for second place. Duke earned another personal best in the 200m dash placing sixth with a time of 21.82.
 
Owen Mitchelll jumped 2.01m (6' 7.25") in the high jump to take home third place overall.
 
In the shot put, Zack Ramos threw 16.07m (52' 8.75") which earned him fifth place.
 
Dartagnan Kilgore finished the 800m in fifth running a time of 1:54.69.
 
Kodee Vining placed fifth in the 200m with a time of 21.79.
           
Looking Forward
 
The team will take a week off in preparation for the Weber State Twilight Invitational Monday May, 3 and Tuesday May, 4 in Ogden, Utah.
